NO!! To the new Epidemic Prevention Act that is against democracy, the Constitution of Iceland, the highest law in the land!
The Althingi approved a new comprehensive Epidemic Prevention Act on April 21, 2026. The Act replaces the older Act from 1997 and is to enter into force on September 1, 2026. The Minister of Health receives clear authorization to set rules for public epidemic prevention measures without having to seek parliamentary approval each time. This applies, among other things, to the following, at the slightest GRIEVANCE of health failure:
Immunostimulation: Authorization to order vaccinations or the administration of antibodies.
Deprivation of liberty: Authorization to require screenings, isolation in quarantine facilities and the quarantine of certain areas.
Freedom of assembly and freedom of employment: Authorization to suspend business operations, close schools and impose a ban on gatherings.
Tougher penalties: The new law stipulates that violations of the Minister’s rules on epidemic prevention measures can result in fines or up to one year in prison. This is stricter than in previous drafts, which discussed up to three months in prison. The new epidemic prevention law is against democracy, the Constitution of Iceland, the highest law in the land!
