North Korean film exposes Western propaganda

What we’ve got:

Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, Pride.

And how did we get there? – According to the North Koreans by:

Creating Ideas & Illusions, Fear, Religion, (not) Beware the 1%, Emulating Psychosis, Rewriting History, The Birth of Propaganda, Cover Ups and Omissions, Complicity, Censorship, International Diplomacy, Television, Advertising, The Cult of Celebrity, Distraction, Terrorism, The Revolution Starts Now (or the lack there of).

Lies! It’s all lies! – Liar (It Takes One to Know One)

Hollywood to Controle the Internet?

Lessig
tells the story of a mouse, Mickey Mouse, how the concept was first “creatively adapted” and then repeatedly used to extend copyright laws which by the way were never intended to be indefinite.

Falkwinge reminded us of one of the biggest companies in Stockholm and how it one day was no more after the invention of the fridge.  ~ Loom breaking was an earlier example.

Dodgy digits, on job-losses, CD sales and the ‘illegality’ of download are just common tactics of the copyright industry.

Stallman has suggested direct “micro payments” to your favorite artist thus bypassing the corporate middlemen

In this country the media and the entertainment industry is owned by the same people, so the disinformation coming from the public relations people (who have replaced journalists) is just contemptuous.

Lets end corporate control of our public space.

The Sacrosanct

or Prospectors, Scavengers and Vultures.

Not a day passes without our minders telling us about our true benefactors, those who come baring investor gifts: jobs, development and yes financial growth – all this at no cost to us – Hallelujah.

Somehow our narcissistic media missed this insignificant and ‘slanderous’ report.

“From Kazakhstan to Australia, taking in the views of Zambia, war-stricken Congo and Angola, cutting across from Siberia to Iceland is a network of mining and metals companies with a catalogue of environmental and community abuse in their wake. In Iceland its face is Century Aluminum, but behind them, at the heart of this web lies the secretive commodity broker Glencore International of Switzerland.”

“The importance of commodity markets has been intensified by the 2008 financial crisis. From 2003 to 2008, the commodities future market grew 1900%, from $13Bn to $318Bn55. Part of this is a shift out of stocks and shares to capitalise on increased growth in China and on natural disasters, which are helping push up the prices of basics. Brokerages such as Glencore make their money from trading on shortages” … “Rather than deal on the open markets, the main business deals are done in private, away from scrutiny.”

Pseudo Science?

Dr. Jeffrey Schaler Professor of Psychology describes psychiatry as a pseudo Science.

The Triumph of Newspeak

  1. We should all be able to internalize Patriotic doctrine to the extent that it becomes a gut instinct – a feeling in the belly.
  2. Any WikiCrimes from Oceania are ungood while WikiCrimes from Eurasia and Eastasia are plusgood.
  3. A true Patriot could automatically, and without thought, expunge any “incorrect” information and totally replace it with “true” information from the Minitrue.
  4. Goodthink, is approved by the Miniluv, and is the opposite of crimethink.
  5. Goodsex is any form of sex considered acceptable by the Inner Party, all other forms of sex are sexcrimes.
  6. Anyone who enjoys virtual solitary in front of his Telescreen is subversive and thus suspicious.
  7. An unperson is a person who has been “vaporized”; who has been not only killed by the state, but effectively erased from existence. Such a person would be written out of existing books, photographs, and articles so that no trace of their existence could be found in the historical record.

Public Opinion?

As the ‘pre-crash’ policies gather momentum, some of us are wondering why large sections of the public appear to have faith in those who orchestrated the meltdown.
How is it possible to use (and abuse) public opinion, influence it, predetermine-, select-, shape-, control and restrict it, to serve those disastrous ends?
Books have been written with titles such as “The Opinion Makers“, and “The Myth of the Rational Voter: Why Democracies Choose Bad Policies“, which seem to support Edward Bernays assumption, that, “The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country.”
Winston Churchill didn’t seem to have much faith either when he scorned, “There is no such thing as public opinion. There is only published opinion.“
