The gospel of “foreign investment” and “jobs” sounds loud and clear from the corporate propaganda industry, with nationalism and conspiracy thrown in for the infidel’s. Yes we used to provide prostitutes to the beloved but forgone American airbase. And some privileged people used to live of the American taxpayer.

It is heartwarming to see the Social Democrats of both sexes, having so heartily embraced the neoclassical Vision, sorry The Nordic Model (my bad).

The ‘Kissing Cousins’ syndrome may explain the superior moral aptitude. However, others say that the best stock left the country in 1870-1914,  leaving only bankers, politicians, middlemen, and telephone sanitizers.

When the student is ready, the master appears, – but can the Master of “long term” teach the addictive short fixer anything?  One of the 22 steps is to ask for more than you want. – but already from 100 to 1% is not negotiating, it’s toying.

The latest ‘investigative’ report informs us of incomprehensible losses of the retirement funds. This, big as it is, is only a fraction of the total losses in the banking meltdown.

Accountability is a concept in ethics and governance with several meanings, nevertheless none of these fit the cognitive climate.

Voodoo priests are currently hard at work stuffing history down the memory hole, their version is that none of this happened, others compare us to post colonial Africa, as we’ve been occupied in succession by: Denmark, UK, US, and the IMF.

Having successfully separated the peasants from their retirement money, the “gentry” wants the serfs to work until they drop, – not mentioning the simple fact that there isn’t work even for young slaves – regardless of how often they redefine the unemployment figures.

Loss of money is one thing but loss of identity is something else.

 If Stieg Larsson had given Lisbeth Salander this picture and the name “Eimreiðarhópurinn” (The Locomotive Group) the result would have matched or surpassed the Millennium trilogy. However the closest we have come to Mikael Blomkvist (so far) is Johann Hauksson and his Threads Of Power: Nepotism, abused positions and Iceland’s collapse.

In his book, Johann looks at the web of power and corruption, the far reaching and disastrous outcome, and the habitual inability to face this daemon, – thus it continues*.

In a “micro” nation, where close-up and personal has profound consequences socially, politically, and economicall, – his courage is commendable.

* Petit échantillon: Large part of the electorate take pleasure in electing convicted villain/parliamentarian, conveniently pardoned by the Prime Minister, the President of Parliament and the President of the Supreme Court. And now parliament is in a frenzy to withdraw its narrow margin referral of the former Prime Minister to the Court of Impeachment, thus saving him from the clutches of his close friends. – It fills my heart with pride.
